Vulcan Basement Waterproofing In Purchase, NY

At this time, the founding fathers of Vulcan were in the home improvement business and were often called on to renovate this space and make it livable. The request was easy enough to accomplish but later, after heavy rains, there was water on the floor. This was something that no one noticed or cared about when it was filled with coal and ash. The first attempts to stop the water were done by trying to raise the ground around the walls that were leaking. After several renovations with the same results there came a realization that there was a genuine need for a business to specialize in keeping water out of basements. This was the birth of the basement waterproofing industry and Vulcan Basement Waterproofing, as we know it today.

Does the E·Z Breathe unit run all year?

The fan in the E·Z Breathe unit is controlled by a humidistat. If the humidity is higher than the fan setting, the fan will automatically adjust itself to a setting that lowers the humidity to the proper level. Once the desired humidity level is reached, the unit will automatically shut off, and then turn back on again when the humidity level increases.

In the summer… When there is no air conditioning in the upper level, the effect is that the temperature of the basement will rise. The upper air, which is warmer and drier, will be drawn downwards, creating a more even temperature level. When the temperature increases in the basement the dew point will have increased as well, which translate into lower condensation level. When there is air conditioning upstairs, the drier air flows downwards until the humidity level is reduced to the set point of the control.

Testimonials

This was the second visit by Vulcan – the service technicians were very professional and did an amazing job – reviewed the project with me and explained what they were going to do and why they needed to do it – then they started right in and did the work. I would highly recommend this crew to anyone looking to get a water issue resolved in their basement.

Great service, very knowledgable staff and hard working crew! Install went well: 160 linear feet of underdrain pipe and crushed stone with 2 sump pits (one pit with 1 pump and the other upper pit with 2 pumps). Pumps run fine when needed. We now have a dry finished basement with peace of mind. Thanks Vulcan, great job!

Our basement flooded several times and had water level of up to 4 feet in one corner of the house. Vulcan assessed the situation and added french drains and new sump pump. They were very professional and not too costly. We haven’t had any issues since, this was in early 2000s.
