Proper basement ventilation is crucial to the wellness, security, and convenience of a house or service. Inappropriate ventilation could create:

Indoor air contamination
Bronchial asthma and allergies
Mold and mildew and also mildew growth
High moisture levels
Nasal Irritability
Breathing Issues

The air we take a breath interior can be contaminated by a variety of points. Amongst them are:

Airborne microorganisms and infections which can trigger many conditions as well as infections. Bacteria and also viruses continue to breed as well as prosper in wet, damp and stagnant settings.

Hazardous Chemicals that become vapors from paint, house cleansers as well as solvents, glues and adhesives found in any type of number of items in the house or service, aerosols, paint, pesticides, as well as chemicals used in some carpeting and upholstery textiles.

Irritants consisting of pet dander, dust mites, and plant pollen.

It’s the water you can not see that could ruin your foundation! Pitch or tar used to waterproof exterior walls at the time of original building and construction frequently deteriorate in as little as 3 to 5 years leaving the wall surfaces unprotected against the incredible hydrostatic pressure of a high water table, underground streams or veins.

An excess of water around footings might weaken them triggering destructive negotiation of the foundation.

Concrete is made mostly of sand. Visualize what will certainly happen to a block of sand in a swimming pool of water. The erosion of concrete takes place similarly, over time with the foundation gradually softening, after that compromising until it paves the way, bringing water into the basement or even worse. This disintegration can take place in block structures also faster due to the fact that they are usually hollow to begin with.

This was the second visit by Vulcan – the service technicians were very professional and did an amazing job – reviewed the project with me and explained what they were going to do and why they needed to do it – then they started right in and did the work. I would highly recommend this crew to anyone looking to get a water issue resolved in their basement.

Great service, very knowledgable staff and hard working crew! Install went well: 160 linear feet of underdrain pipe and crushed stone with 2 sump pits (one pit with 1 pump and the other upper pit with 2 pumps). Pumps run fine when needed. We now have a dry finished basement with peace of mind. Thanks Vulcan, great job!

Our basement flooded several times and had water level of up to 4 feet in one corner of the house. Vulcan assessed the situation and added french drains and new sump pump. They were very professional and not too costly. We haven’t had any issues since, this was in early 2000s.
