Vulcan Basement Waterproofing In Muttontown, NY
It’s the water you cannot see that could ruin your foundation! Pitch or tar used to water resistant exterior wall surfaces at the time of initial building frequently wear away in just 3 to 5 years leaving the wall surfaces unprotected against the tremendous hydrostatic pressure of a high water table, underground streams or veins.

An unwanted of water around grounds could weaken them triggering destructive settlement of the foundation.

Concrete is made mainly of sand. Visualize exactly what will certainly occur to a block of sand in a pool of water. The disintegration of concrete happens the same way, over time with the foundation gradually softening, after that weakening until it gives way, bringing water right into the cellar or worse. This erosion could take place in block foundations even much faster since they are usually hollow to begin with.

As soon as water has made it to the inside of the cellar via the wall surfaces and/or floor, it can only become worse. As you can see, the water you see in the cellar is just a ” Signs and symptom”– not the trouble.

Sooner or later, the majority of resident will certainly need to do some kind of cellar waterproofing if they have any type of sub-soil location in their house.

French Drain Systems

Another commonly recognized approach is drawing away surface water away from the foundation by the development of a French drain. It includes the laying of pipeline and also uses gravity to drain pipes water from a high factor to a reduced point some distance away.

This was the second visit by Vulcan – the service technicians were very professional and did an amazing job – reviewed the project with me and explained what they were going to do and why they needed to do it – then they started right in and did the work. I would highly recommend this crew to anyone looking to get a water issue resolved in their basement.

Great service, very knowledgable staff and hard working crew! Install went well: 160 linear feet of underdrain pipe and crushed stone with 2 sump pits (one pit with 1 pump and the other upper pit with 2 pumps). Pumps run fine when needed. We now have a dry finished basement with peace of mind. Thanks Vulcan, great job!

Our basement flooded several times and had water level of up to 4 feet in one corner of the house. Vulcan assessed the situation and added french drains and new sump pump. They were very professional and not too costly. We haven’t had any issues since, this was in early 2000s.
