Vulcan Basement Waterproofing In Farmingdale, NY
It’s the water you cannot see that can ruin your foundation! Pitch or tar utilized to water resistant exterior walls at the time of initial building usually wear away in as little as 3 to 5 years leaving the wall surfaces unprotected versus the incredible hydrostatic pressure of a high water table, below ground streams or blood vessels.

An unwanted of water around footings may undermine them creating harmful settlement of the foundation.

Concrete is made mostly of sand. Envision what will happen to a block of sand in a pool of water. The erosion of concrete occurs the same way, over time with the structure slowly softening, after that damaging till it paves the way, bringing water into the basement or worse. This disintegration could take place in block structures even faster since they are typically hollow to start with.

When water has made it to the inside of the basement through the wall surfaces and/or flooring, it can only become worse. As you can see, the water you see in the cellar is only a ” Signs and symptom”– not the trouble.

Sooner or later, most of resident will certainly need to do some form of cellar waterproofing if they have any type of sub-soil area in their residence.

French Drainpipe Equipments

Another generally known technique is drawing away surface area water away from the foundation by the creation of a French drain. It involves the laying of pipe as well as utilizes gravity to drain pipes water from a high point to a low point some distance away.

This was the second visit by Vulcan – the service technicians were very professional and did an amazing job – reviewed the project with me and explained what they were going to do and why they needed to do it – then they started right in and did the work. I would highly recommend this crew to anyone looking to get a water issue resolved in their basement.

Great service, very knowledgable staff and hard working crew! Install went well: 160 linear feet of underdrain pipe and crushed stone with 2 sump pits (one pit with 1 pump and the other upper pit with 2 pumps). Pumps run fine when needed. We now have a dry finished basement with peace of mind. Thanks Vulcan, great job!

Our basement flooded several times and had water level of up to 4 feet in one corner of the house. Vulcan assessed the situation and added french drains and new sump pump. They were very professional and not too costly. We haven’t had any issues since, this was in early 2000s.
